A few days ago we were invited to the presentation of ARAN, an interesting art project in augmented reality, curated by Maite Coloma and incubated in the offices of Oarsis.
This project, an acronym of Augmented Reality Art Network, aims to build bridges between the world of culture and society in public spaces, showing contemporary creations generated with cutting-edge technological tools, allowing to know the present art made with construction programs three-dimensional
ARAN is one of the first projects in Spain that uses the extended reality only with an artistic purpose. And it is that artistic creations and design can find their own nature in very different ways. The widespread reality is no exception, so more and more artists and designers begin to use their potential creativity to develop their creations, while on the other side, the developers are seeing a new commercial landscape that encourages the creation of tools to make this possible.
There are not yet too many applications designed specifically for artists to do their work in a totally virtual environment, but those that are essential. Some are already available for a long time in the different VR markets, while others are still in development or even in beta phase limited to certain people. Next we leave you a list with the best apps to develop virtual art:
TILT BRUSH
Plataform: Oculus Rift (requiere Oculus Touch), Window MR, HTC VIVE.
Price: 19,99 €
Website: https://www.tiltbrush.com/
With Tilt Brush everything started. Google’s tool was born in 2016 and since then it has become the quintessential medium for those artists who want to make 3D art (and the app that is never missing in any VR event of the last two years). Its use is as simple as putting on Oculus or HTC Vive glasses, choosing the type of brush, the thickness and the color and starting to develop our creations in the three-dimensional space that surrounds us. You can be as creative as your inspiration allows, and draw shapes that would be impossible with traditional methods.
In a virtual environment, virtually everything that surrounds us can become a canvas for our work. In addition, with the available tools nothing is impossible; You can design clothes, paint abstract objects in 3D or just have a good time trying all the possibilities of the application. Just as Cubism was the style of the 30s, abstract art style of the 60s, tilt brush is the style of the second decade of the 21st century.
GRAVITY SKETCH
Plataform: Oculus Rift (requiere Oculus Touch), HTC VIVE, Windows MR, IOS devices

This simplicity significantly accelerates the design process. In addition, an important advantage is that each design matches exactly what you are.
