Oculus Go, the new autonomous VR glasses that Oculus, the subsidiary company of Facebook, announced at its developers meeting last October will be released in early 2018.

What is expected of the Oculus Go?

The fundamental mission of the Go will be to overcome the barrier so far has involved relying on an external processor, smartphone or PC, so that the glasses could work, thus gaining comfort and freedom for users. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg announced at the same conference that this is the first stone to reach Oculus’ next goal: to bring virtual reality to a billion people around the world.

The Oculus Go features a 2,560X1,440-pixel WQHD LCD screen, allowing it to deliver high image quality, clear vision and reduce the hated screendor effect. Another very new solution that it incorporates is the spatial audio system, implemented directly on the helmet straps, which allows us to free ourselves from the headphones, thus gaining autonomy and aesthetics.
It also has a control quite similar to that of the Gear VR, which suggests that engineers develop both controllers simultaneously.
